CASAS ToT Module 1Either1.5 hoursYesCASASModule 1 introduces you to the CASAS system and reviews NRS-approved assessments. Implementation Basics Training is the tool you need to learn what CASAS can offer your program. Topics include the intake process, test administration, interpreting test results, and test security. This is an overview of computer-based testing and paper testing as well as a basic introduction to the many reports CASAS offers to assist adult educators. Participants learn how to select and order CASAS materials. Anyone who wishes to order and administer CASAS eTests or paper tests must complete this module and Module 2 or Module 3.
CASAS ToT Module 2Face-to-face1.5 hoursYesCASASThis module trains participants in the use of eTests including Test Administration, Intake Screening, Locator and Scoring, and the Online eTests Proctor Certification. Participants learn the initial steps for logging into CASAS eTests and TOPSpro Enterprise. The presenter(s) covers the intake process, Locator (placement test) administration, and progress testing with CASAS eTests. If a program is new to CASAS eTests, it can also include the Going Live Checklist. Completion of this module and Module 1, Implementation Basics Training, is a requirement to order CASAS eTests. This Module includes a demonstration and/or hands-on practice in the simulation server “Rolling Hills Adult School”.
CASAS ToT Module 3Either1.5 hoursYesCASASFor programs that use paper tests, this module covers proctor responsibilities and duties, intake process, appraisal (placement test) administration, and progress testing. Completion of this module and Module 1- Implementation Basics Training, is a requirement for those who wish to order and administer CASAS paper tests.
CASAS ToT Module 4Either1.5 hoursYesCASASThis module targets the specific needs of instructors and provides information and strategies to understand and interpret test results more easily. Instructors can use the curriculum components of the CASAS system, CASAS Content Standards, CASAS Competencies, and Task Areas to pinpoint students’ instructional needs. Attend this training workshop to learn how to interpret the many student and classroom reports available to inform lesson planning and curriculum development.
